| Q: I have an Allen-Bradley 1770-KF2 that I use to connect my plant DH+ network
to a remote site using DF1 over a leased Telephone Line. This configuration
is working fine because the DF1 link is point-to-point and the KF2 operates
in Full-Duplex, where the KF2 acts as a DF1 Master. I would like to convert
this setup to a point-to-multipoint network. To do this, I must convert the
KF2 and remote PLC from Full Duplex to Half Duplex. The problem is that the
1770-KF2 only operates as a DF1 Master if it is Full Duplex. If the KF2 is
switched to Half Duplex, it will not operate as a DF1 Master, but only as a
DF1 Slave. Will your DataLink DL3500-DH+/DF1 operate as a DF1 Master in Half Duplex? A: We have confirmed with our Engineers and Yes the DL3500-DH+/DF1 will work well in your application and it will operate as a DF1 Master in Half Duplex! Great news for you! Q: I looking for a direct replacement to the Allen-Bradley 1770-KF2, can you help me? DL-PC/104 - PC/104 Bus Interface DL-PC - ISA Bus Interface DL-PCI - PCI Bus interface More details: Allen-Bradley 1770-KF2 Q:We like to use the DL4500-EDH+ fore two conections from a Siemens PLC via CP443-1 to an Allen Bradley PLC 5/40 an PLC 5/80. You can see this in the drawings in the appendix. The CP443-1 can comunicate with 10/100 Mbit/s Full/Half Duplex. Comunication with ISO ,TCP/IP and UDP protocol. We like to use two DL4500-EDH+ to make comunication via DH+ and RIO to both PLC 5. DH+ comunication is used fore order datas. The RIO communication is used for bit communication. A: You will need to add a DF1 or Modbus module to your Siemens PLC. Then you can use either the DL3500-DH+/DF1 and the DL3500-DH+/Modbus to have connectivity to DH+. For RIO you use the DL2000-KFR. Q: We have a bunch of PLC 5’s which are all on DH+ network. We want to have an HMI on Ethernet. We are looking for some kind of a bridge between DH+ and Ethernet. We would like to communicate to each one of the PLC’s independently. Q: I have several Schneider Electric TSX Micro and TSX Premium PLCs with
Modbus port which should be connected to DH+ network. Q: We have a problem collecting data from a number of AB SLC503 processors and I think that you have the solution. Could you please let me have a price for your DL4500-EDH-485 Datalink module? A: The DL4500-EDH-485 will allow you to 'see' all nodes on the DH-485. You can collect data and program the individual PLC's. Q: I would like more info on the DL4500-EDH-485. Can this be used with RSSql for data collection in a 5/03 processor with current Dh485 network of 2 Adaptascan Barcode readers and 2 panelview 550s? If so what is the price and delivery of the product? A: Thanks for your email! The DL4500-EDH-485 will work well in your application. Commonly, RSSql is used in conjunction with RSLinx Classic to get data to and from Rockwell controllers. Q: I would like to get a quote for your Ethernet to data highway + device (DL4500-EDH+). We currently use an ActiveX control within Visual Basic to talk to AB PLC’s that have Ethernet capability. Do you know if your device would work with this control. Q: I need to communicate via Ethernet to an Allen Bradley SLC 504 cpu. The cpu is currently connected to an AB ‘PanelView 1000’ operator display through the DH+ port. I need to maintain this connection and also connect to a SLC 505 cpu that has an Ethernet port. Will your DL4500-EDH+ module allow this? A: Thanks for your email! The DL3500-DH+/IAP will work better in your application as the DL4500 will not work because it cannot talk to the SLC 5/05 on the ethernet side. The DL3500-DH+/IAP will allows nodes on the Ethernet side to talk to notes on the DH+ side. Q: I am assisting a County Rural Water District with adding some new Ethernet radio modems between their Pumping Station and Water Towers. They already have an Allen Bradley SLC 5-05 with Ethernet being used for the Panelview + and for programming. I plan on adding an Allen Bradley Micrologix 1100, that features Ethernet, at a water tower 5 miles distant. At our Water Plant. that sells water to the Rural Water District, we have a SLC 5-04 at the Water Plant serving as a master. A: We highly suggest the DL3500-DH+/IAP as you are talking Ethernet IP. Ethernet side is master! Q: We have an application where we are recommissioning a mine site which is running 2 x A-B PLC5 processors (1 each 5/20, 5/40 & 5/60) with Citect being used as the SCADA system - all are running on DH+. The option of purchasing PKTX cards is less than attractive so we are keen to look at different options:An direct replacement for the PKTX cards (your DL-PCI seems like it is a DIRECT replacment - is that correct?) Installation of 1 or more DH+ to TCP/IP gateways. The 2 x Citect I/O Servers access the DH+ network at a single point on that network - for redundancy should we be using an individual gateway for each I/O Server? A: Yes the DL-PCI is a direct replacement as well as the DL3500-DH+/DF1 (external solution). If you want Ethernet TCP/IP (ie allows you to see all nodes on DH+ from a computer on an Ethernet TCP/IP network. This is the DL4500-EDH+. You can program the nodes and collect data. Q: I have a need to interface 9 Allen Bradley SLC 5/03 PLC’s to a plant network for a data collection system. The PLC’s are using DH 485 out of 1 port and the other port is dedicated to an RSView application. The only things on each network are the SLC 5/03 and A Cutler Hammer Panel Mate. The plant network is Ethernet. What I need is a way to use Ethernet to get onto the DH 485 networks to check data in each plc. So basically I need some type of Gateway between Ethernet to DH 485. I will have to go back and check the total. It may not be nine. What I am trying to do now is find a device that can join the 2 networks together to get the information. Can you help? A: The DL3500-DH-485/IAP is the solution for you! |
